Simon Costa Sichula – Guitar
Simon is an experienced young guitarist who performs regularly in Dar es Salaam and around Tanzania working with popular gospel musicians like Tina Mwang’onda and Martha Lata but also further afield in Zambia and Ethiopia. Apart from the guitar he also palys bass and works as a vocal teacher. He studied at the Music Mayday Sound of Tomorrow program where he graduated with a music certificate in 2016. He is also part of the AMTZ teaching team taking part in the East African Global Music Campus in Ethiopia co-funded by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut.
Leonard Oscar Tzakayoya – Bass
Leonard is an experienced bass player and has performed with some of the most well known band in Tanzania including Wakwetu Jazz Band and Dazz Jazz. Leonard spent many years studying the bass privately and is currently a member of the AMTZ teaching team studying on the East African Global Music Campus program in Ethiopia. He has also taken part in various international projects including the Music Crossroads program in Mozambique.
Tito Philemon Makassy – Drums / Rhythmic Reading & Writing
Kauzeni Lyamba – Percussion / Body Percussion / Rhythmic Reading & Writing
Kauzeni is a versatile performer and multi-instrumentalist playing percussion, alto sax and Tanzanian bamboo flutes and is also an accomplished dancer. He performs regularly in Dar es Salaam and Tanzania and has also participated, performed and organized numerous national and international music projects like the Umoja Cultural Flying Carpets, Music Crossroads Interregional Festivals and the Bagamoyo Arts Festival. He has also performed at ethno-music camps in Eastern and Northern Europe. Kauzeni also is a very experienced teacher having taught courses in music, rhythm, African dance at the Dar es Salaam International School, Dar es Salaam International Academy, Little Scholars and the Nordic School in Dar es Salaam. Kauzeni holds a Diploma in Arts and Culture from the Bagamoyo College of Music and a Professional Certificate in Music from the East African Global Music Campus run by the Global Music Academy in Berlin.
Upendo Manase – Voice
Upendo one of the most promising young singers to emerge from Dar es Salaam in recent years. She regularly performs gospel music as a solo artist and also in the Kigogo church choir. She started singing at a young age in the church choir and graduated from the Music Mayday Sound of Tomorrow program with a music certificate in 2016. She is a member of the AMTZ teaching team studying at the East African Global Music Campus in Ethiopia where she is working with the renowned Zimbabwean singer Prudence Katomene. Upendo is currently working on the production of her own Afro-Fusion album due to be released shortly.

Administration – Kelvin Erasmus
Kelvin is responsible for strategic planning and administration liaison at Action Music Tanzania. Kelvin is a guitarist, singer, music producer and music education advocate. He holds a certificate in hospitality management with over 7 years of professional experience in sales, marketing and revenue management. Kelvin became involved in music at a very early age, however there was not much of support offered to him as child but through his own conviction and determination he manage to find a way into music and started up contemporary jazz band known as Wakwetu Jazz Band in 2011. The band become popular in Dar es Salaam for its unique blend of jazz and afro roots and performed at the Jahazi Jazz Festival and Sauti za Busara as well as corporate events. Kelvon worked for the Music Mayday Sound of Tomorrow project as creative co-ordinator and student supervisors in 2014 and represented Music Mayday at the DOADOA East African Performing Arts Market in Uganda in 2014.
